Cannot wait for my first Obon festival next year in Japan. Its a three day festival commemorating the Ancestors. It is the Japanese Buddhist custom to honour your ancestors, and this often takes place in the form of a dance (Bon Odori). This dance welcomes the spirits of the dead and varies from region to region. The more I look into it, the more Japanese culture and specifically the traditional art theory and aesthetic’s appeals to me.
